The Firsts That Make a Home
Five weeks in, and something pretty amazing is happening at The IDDeal Place.
We’re not just moving into apartments anymore. We’re moving into life.
The routines are starting to feel familiar. Neighbors are becoming friends. Everyone is learning when to give each other a little help, a little space, or sometimes just a good
laugh. And this week was filled with those little moments that make us realize we are creating something much bigger than a place to live.
It was a week of FIRSTS!
Our First Trip in the IDDeal Place Van!
There was something pretty special about seeing some of our residents pile into their van and head out together. It may seem like a simple outing, but to us it represented exactly what we dreamed about — independence, friendship, community and a whole lot of adventures still to come.

Our First Ice Cream Social
Thank you to the Solomon’s for sponsoring our first ice cream social and they brought all the goodies including lots of toppings!

together for a little fun, a lot of delicious ice cream and another reminder that some of the best memories happen around a table with friends.
Our First Visit From Nancy!
We were so proud to welcome Nancy Pulte Rickard to campus and show her that The IDDeal Place is doing exactly what we all hoped it would do — becoming a HOME.
Five residents are now living, learning, laughing, growing and figuring out this new chapter together.
Nancy and the Pulte Family Charitable Foundation team handled every detail of this beautiful community with such care, and seeing the dream actually being lived is pretty incredible.
Nancy had the chance to visit Jessica’s, Lexy’s and Kim’s apartments and see all the personal touches that make each one uniquely theirs. She loved seeing how their personalities are reflected in their new homes. And her delight at The Suite Life of Keefer and Josh was multiplied when she discovered Josh’s amazing LEGO collection!
And Our First Campus Director Birthday!
Yep…that would be me! There was nowhere I would rather have celebrated. After all the years of dreaming, planning, worrying, fighting, fundraising and wondering if this day would ever really come, celebrating another trip around the sun at The IDDeal Place felt pretty darn special.
But the Biggest Story of Week 5 Really Isn’t Any One Event
It’s what is happening between the events.
It’s residents checking on each other. It’s figuring out routines. It’s learning how to live with roommates and neighbors. It’s laughing together at night, making plans for tomorrow and becoming more comfortable calling this place home.
✅ Five weeks ago, we moved five residents into The IDDeal Place.
✅ Today, we’re watching a little community become a family.
✅ And we’re realizing that all these “firsts” are eventually going to become traditions.
That might just be the best part.
